Design Statement

Our Creative Director Boris says:

The goals of this new start-up is simple: we enable responsible handling of pets & create a place of comfort for pet owners. Melting Experience designed an app that allows pet owners to keep track of their pets’ health as well as interact with other owners for helpful advice. One central place for everything surrounding your pet, from a health diary to an interactive map of pet-friendly places. Active commitment to the health of your pet with all the tips and functions of the app, will ensure you have everything you need right in your pocket when you next have to visit the vet.

Criteria

Idea

The pet health app is a dedicated social media platform for pet owners, with real world benefits. The app helps users in regards to the two main pain-points of many pet owners: where you can take your pet, and an unexpected trip to the vet. The app is built around a user centred health diary that makes it easy to track variables and analyse stats in regards to your pets health as well as a map that gives you information about the best pet-friendly places around you.

Form

A clean & minimalist look respects the importance of keeping track of your pets health, while pops of colour and artsy icons make you want to come back for more. The vibrant curaçao blue expresses that we are young, fresh and up to date, while a contrasting petrol colour creates a calm an clean environment to input data. This contrast creates depth in our daily diary entries, tracking, and activities.

Function

Capitalising on learnt behaviour, the the pet health app is based around a feed of information. Contrary to other platforms however, its memory timeline is chronological, and filled with the most important stats about your pets health. The ability to add activities and information in-between, allows users to connect the dots between the health of their pet and their daily activities. This revolutionary approach to pet health brings a breath of fresh air into the outdated world of pet care.

Differentiation

The app boasts a large amount of features that separate it from other pet related apps on the market: The amp function, powered by our own Dog's Places geo database navigates you to the best spots nearby for you and your pet – The coach function gives you active tips and tricks on how to train – the embedded store allows you to go shopping for pet related products and finally, a integrated health card gives you full access to your pets health - while our pet insurance does exactly what it says on the tin. With this plethora of features underpinned by a community first approach, the app is the all-round solution for any pet owner.

Impact

By connecting the dots between the activity and the health of the pet, owners are able to single out patterns before they might become a problem. By committing to documenting your pets health not only can a visit to the vet be avoided, if it does need to take place it can provide a large amount of data for the vet to base their analysis on. This pet health app can potentially save owners multiple vet visits and allow them to refocus on their daily activities with their pet, without ever losing the big picture needed to analyse their pets health.
