Jobs

We don't hire for seats. We hire for impact.

Melting Experience is growing. Whether you design interfaces, write code, run campaigns, or keep projects on track. If you want your work to actually ship, win awards, and make a difference: keep scrolling.

The work.

We don't do quick-turn deliverables. Our projects run deep… sometimes for years. You might build the frontend for a warehouse management system used by thousands of workers daily. Design and ship an onboarding app for one of Europe's largest energy companies. Produce a campaign film that redefines a B2B category. Or orchestrate the moving parts of a climate toolbox built for coffee farmers on three continents. These aren't hypotheticals. They're in our portfolio, covered in Red Dots and iF Golds.

And they need people like you to keep pushing them forward.

Melting Experience Team on an excursion

The people.

The people you'd be working with?
A crew that refuses to fit into one genre.

Some sketch interfaces all morning and play vinyl all night. Some ship React code and raise kids. Some run before sunrise and prototype in fabric, wood, or sound when the workday winds down. Designers sit next to developers sit next to video minds sit next to marketing brains and the conversations between them are where most of the good stuff happens.

What we look for isn't a perfect résumé.
It's the edges. The obsessions. The thing you're weirdly good at that nobody asked for. Bring that in, and you'll find people who get it – and probably want to collaborate on it.

Come as you are. Melt in with the rest.

The Place

Schulterblatt 36, right in the heart of Hamburg's Sternschanze. A 600m² loft with a hall that fits event for 100 people, team rooms with ready-to-dock display workstations, a photo studio, a maker workshop with 3D printers and plotters, conference rooms with floor-to-ceiling plants, and a bar that's seen its share of late-night creative sessions.

Lunch means scouting the best international food on Schulterblatt.

Getting here means a bike ride, a 2-minute walk from the S-Bahn, or zipping by in one of our electric fleet cars.

Our studio is our playground. We built it to create great ideas.

Why working at Melting matters.

Every project here ships into the real world. Every screen gets used, every campaign gets seen, every line of code runs in production. And somewhere along the way, a lot of this work tends to come home with an award on top.

Three reasons people join Melting. Three reasons they stay.
Three reasons the next great thing in your portfolio might start right here.

Real Products, Real Users

Everything we build goes live. No spec work, no concept graveyard. Our apps, websites, and campaigns are used daily by warehouse workers, energy customers, pension administrators, train passengers, and scientists. When we say user-centered, we mean we've watched the actual users: in the warehouse, in the field, in the lab. Designers, developers, and project managers all sit close to the product and the people who use it.

Award-Winning by Habit

45+ international design awards including Red Dot Best of the Best and iF Gold. Our RWE onboarding app was named Best Service Design worldwide and ranked among the top 5 design works across all categories in 2023. You won't just add to your portfolio here — you'll add trophies. And yes, our developers and PMs celebrate those wins right alongside the designers.

Clients Who Become Partners

BMW, Deutsche Bahn, Vattenfall, Carl Zeiss, RWE, Starlab, Karabag/Stellantis, MEGA e.G., Storelogix. Our longest client relationship spans 15+ years. They come back because we don't deliver isolated assets — we deliver design systems, production-grade code, brand campaigns, and digital products that move numbers and change processes. Clients turn into collaborators. Collaborators turn into friends. And together we build things that last.

Our manifesto.

Yes, we admit: We are a bit different than traditional agencies.

Different in our approach to work.
Different in our organization.
Different in the level of involvement you will experience from day one.
Let us explain:

We believe.

No silos.

We don't separate UX from UI. We don't separate strategy from design. We don't separate thinking from making. Design and development run side by side, looping fast, refining hard, iterating until it feels inevitable. The best ideas emerge when disciplines collide — that's literally our name.

Deep, not wide.

We work with clients for years, not weeks. We learn their industries until we can speak their language. We have team members with forklift licenses, lab pipetting certifications, and barista training — all from going deep on client projects.

Senior by default.

Junior doesn't mean junior treatment. From day one, you sit at the same table as the Creative Director. You present to clients. You own your work. Whether you're a designer, a developer, or a PM — we grow people fast because we trust them early.

Obsessed with quality, allergic to average.

Every sprint is about pushing further. Every decision is grounded in real use, real friction, real people. The goal isn't just delivery — it's exceptional work that stands out, performs, and earns recognition. And when it lands, we celebrate. Loudly. Then we keep going.

Sustainability isn't a slide.

All-electric fleet. Smart office energy. No domestic flights. Cargo bike deliveries. We designed climate tools for coffee farmers — and we practice what we preach.

The bits around the work.

Great work takes great conditions so you can focus on the interesting stuff. We've spent years figuring out what actually helps people do their best work – and feel good while doing it. Here's some of what comes with the job.

Questions? Answered.

Where is the office?

Schulterblatt 36 in Hamburg's Sternschanze: right in the city's creative heartbeat. International Food, local shops and the most trendy bars – right in front of our door.

S-Bahn Sternschanze & U Feldstraße are a 2-minute walk. Most of us come by bike.

Is remote work possible?

We believe in the energy of being together – our loft is built for collaboration, crafting, workshops, and spontaneous ideas. That said, we're flexible when life requires it. The default is on-site in Hamburg.

I don't see a role that fits. Can I still apply?

Absolutely. We're always open to exceptional designers, developers, project managers, and creative minds.

Send your portfolio, CV and a note to jobs@melti.ng.

What kind of clients will I work with?

Major brands across energy, mobility, logistics, life sciences, finance, and tech — Deutsche Bahn, Vattenfall, Carl Zeiss, Starlab, RWE, BMW and more.
Most are long-term partnerships, not one-off projects.

You won’t be isolated on one client or industry – we are seeking for generalists and curious personalities. That said, we won’t overwhelm you with too much stuff at the start, so that you can focus and leave a mark in your project.

What tools do you use?

Figma is our go-to tool for everything UI design. Miro (or our walls) for workshops and ideation. Jira for project management. Slack for communication. Our in-house Melting Web Framework (React, Vercel & Sanity) for development.

Yes, we still pay for Adobe Creative Suite, but who is really using it nowadays?!

And we're early adopters of AI-powered tools across design, code, and content.
We try & test every new model from Claude, imagine visual worlds with Nano Banana, bring them to life with Higgsfield and let Gemini do the deep research. But by the time you are reading this, we might have even checked 50 other new tools that will give us superpowers in some fields of our work.

What's the interview process like?

Depends on the role, but generally:

→ Your application

→ work sample review

→ chemistry call with Boris

→ a short task or case discussion

→ team & founders meet in our studio

Fast, honest, no corporate theatre.

We love to create cool stuff together. Let’s share our creativity, our space, our values. We are ready.
